Skin Resurfacing

Once carbon dioxide lasers were the glorified workhorse of laser skin  resurfacing. However, prolonged healing times, months of redness and swelling, and the chance of significant pigmentation problems sent  physicians searching for a better modality.

Until recently, the only options to medically treat damaged skin were  chemical peels and microdermabrasion. However, these procedures only  remove a thin layer of skin. Skin resurfacing uses laser light and  treats deeper layers than does microdermabrasion.
